On Saturday, Jan. 31, the day before the 68th Grammy Awards, members of Congress and their staff were attended Up Close With Grammy Nominees at the renown Los Angeles recording studio, Village Recorders. The intimate briefing that paired policy discussion with live performances was moderated by the Recording Academy's Chief Advocacy & Public Policy Officer (New Orleans-native) Todd Dupler, the lineup of conversations featured six-time Grammy winner PJ Morton, two-time Grammy winner Molly Tuttle, and entertainment attorney, Recording Academy Memphis Chapter President and Louisiana Music Partners founding board member Tim Kappel. Together, they offered insight into the creative process behind this year's Grammy-nominated work, real-world challenges facing today's music professionals, and emerging legal issues impacting copyright law. The program included special performances from Morton and Tuttle, who were both nominated at the 68th Grammy Awards, reinforcing the vital importance of human talent at the center of these policy conversations.



 
 
 

The Louisiana Office of Tourism, the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development, the Louisiana Seafood Marketing and Promotion Board, New Orleans & Company, and Visit Mississippi banded together to host The Gold Record Road: Celebrating the 2026 Grammy Nominees from Louisiana and Mississippi at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The cultural tribute staged on January 31 honored the southern highways, communities, and creative voices that helped shape the foundation of American music. The annual event featured performances by the New Breed Brass Band with Trombone Shorty, Kyle Roussel and Jamal Roberts.




 
 
 

Recordings by Louisiana artists earn numerous nominations and wins at the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards, even sweeping all the nominations in Best Regional Roots Album category!


Louisiana artists represented every corner of thre state and across genres as diverse as Blues, Brass Bands, Country, Funk, Gospel, Jazz, Opera, Rap, R&B, and Zydeco. Nominees include:

Louisiana artists featured on the GRAMMY Awards: Trombone Shorty was performed on the opening segment of the Premiere Ceremony and Jon Batiste joined the In Memoriam segment of the GRAMMY telecast.
